The 8th grade class spent time learning about the millions of Americans who were here long before Columbus "discovered" the New World in 1492. Each student did a research project about a native group and presented about their findings. Part of the presentation was to create a 3D object that symbolized an important part of their native peoples culture. Items created included various home styles, spiritual beliefs, tools used for hunting and protection, and a 16 ton Olmec head sculpture (brought down to scale).
The Trojan Cross County team heads to Alma today for the RPAC Cross County meet. The Girls race is at 4pm, the boys race is at 4:30 pm and a JV race will follow at the conclusion of both the girls and boys races. Good luck Trojans! #trojanway

Great things happening in 7th grade ELA.

I am always impressed with the talent displayed by my students when they are given projects. To go with the story Wonder, the students were asked to create a mask to represent the person they allow the world to see (the me others see). The back (behind the mask) is the person they see in themselves that they may hide from the world. I promised to only share this side of their world, but I couldn’t be happier with what these kids have done! Once again, my heart is full. ❤️❤️
